The relationship of the dimensions U (distance between the end opening and the beam end) and T (distance between successive openings) is decisive. All other dimensions for a given beam follow from this.
Beam ends left ragged, U=T |
Simple and cheap, but not convenient to use. |
TOP | |
Beam ends left ragged, U>T |
Longer ends, but not very effective. |
TOP | |
Beam ends finished, U=T |
Nice finish, dearer due to extra cutting operation and material waste. |
TOP | |
Beam ends finished with infill plates, U>T |
Strong and rigid ends, but expensive. |
